El Monje was easily my favorite place in Las Palmas. I was here for five days and came back almost every day because the food, prices, and people were all that good. Diego was incredible! He always took care of me, gave me excellent recommendations, and made me feel genuinely welcome. We even ended up watching the World Cup together! Claudia was also incredibly polite, friendly, and always a joy to be around. The ensaladilla de batata was so good that I ordered it several times. I also loved the papas bravas, hamburguesa (make sure to get the aioli with that), and tortilla española. Their combination of affordable prices and such a superb location right in front of the Catedral de Canarias is extremely rare in this area. If I ever return to Las Palmas, El Monje will be one of my first stops!!!
Tapas done right! Everything is made to order, super tasty and more than enough to keep you full. They also have a great wine selection of local wines that go great with the tapas they serve. They also usually have some homemade cakes and pastries that go well with coffee. Staff is friendly and helpful and always busy. If you are considering going there in the evening, better have a reservation, cause the place is small and gets filled quite quickly.
Very relaxed and traditional canary restaurant right at the cathedral square. Beautiful place. Food was authentic and tasted great. Service was great. Price was very reasonable. Loved it
Directly in the Plaza Santa Ana, beautiful location to seat outside we had the meatballs and i do recommend them. Wine was also good. Prices fair!! The service staff was very attentive and friendly. We will come back!!
