Outstanding Drag Entertainment in a Fun and Inclusive Venue — 4/5 Sparkles Bar is one of the strongest entertainment venues we visited in Gran Canaria. The drag shows are excellent, with performances that feel far above the standard normally expected from a holiday resort bar. The performers are confident, polished and genuinely talented. The comedy is sharp, the audience interaction is funny without feeling uncomfortable, and the atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive. Several of the live vocal performances would comfortably rival those of queens seen on well-known programmes such as RuPaul’s Drag Race. This is not simply basic holiday entertainment; the shows are professionally presented and clearly involve a great deal of preparation, skill and experience. The venue succeeds in making people feel involved regardless of age, background or identity. The humour is playful, the performers engage well with the audience, and the evening remains entertaining from beginning to end. It is an excellent choice for couples, groups of friends and anyone looking for a lively and memorable night out. Drinks are also reasonably priced, particularly compared with many tourist venues, which makes it possible to enjoy the full evening without the cost becoming excessive. Service was generally efficient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and fun. The main downside is smoking within the enclosed areas of the venue. This significantly affects the comfort of non-smokers and anyone sensitive to cigarette smoke. Smoking should be restricted to a clearly designated outdoor area rather than being allowed within the main performance space. This issue is particularly frustrating because the entertainment itself is of such a high standard. With indoor smoking properly prevented, Sparkles would offer an almost faultless evening. Overall, Sparkles Bar provides exceptional drag entertainment, impressive vocal performances, affordable drinks and a genuinely inclusive atmosphere. The performers deserve considerable praise and are undoubtedly the reason this venue is so popular. Addressing the smoking issue would make an already excellent night out even better.
After coming across Sparkles on our first night of a one week holiday, we ended up coming back every night but one. The show is fun, hilarious and had us laughing from start to finish (usually 11pm - 1/2am). 6 great nights spent here and each time the show was different but just as fun and hilarious. Rosebud - you made us laugh until our tummy's hurt! The staff! Huge reason we returned every night as they were warm, friendly, helpful and just all out amazing. And they work so hard to ensure the environment is open, safe, enjoyable for everyone and look after their customers and each other so well. From addressing the odd 'over excited dancer' during shows (Gary had this down to perfection), to the odd customer who was rude... Respectful but fair every time - huge praise! A real pleasure to spend time here, great entertainment, staff, very reasonably priced drinks and would definitely recommend!
What a night! We ended up coming back the very next night because the bar staff were excellent and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The drag shows were absolutely hilarious and had us all laughing nonstop throughout the evening. Such a brilliant atmosphere, and the whole experience was full of energy, fun, and great entertainment. It’s the perfect place for a memorable night out, and we loved it so much we would definitely highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Sparkles Show Bar is one of the best nights out in the Yumbo Centre. The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and full of good vibes from start to finish. The drag queens are hilarious, talented, and brilliant with the crowd, putting on a fun mix of comedy, music, and entertainment that keeps everyone laughing all night. Whether you’re there for the cocktails, karaoke, or the cabaret-style shows, Sparkles has an amazing energy that makes everyone feel included and ready to party.
