Description

Head to the Bandama volcano, the first stop on this 8-hour tour. See the largest crater of an extinct volcano on the island and enjoy views of the east coast, mountains and Las Palmas. Continue to Santa Brígida, admire its historical centre and learn about its history. Continue up to Pico de las Nieves, the island’s highest point. Take in views that often include the neighbouring island of Tenerife. Visit San Bartolomé, a mountain village with an ethnographic museum that you can visit free of charge. Stop for lunch at a traditional taverna in the village of Fataga (additional cost). Afterwards, head to the Maspalomas sand dunes and enjoy 45 minutes of free time before returning back to Las Palmas.

  • Be sure to bring warm clothing and an umbrella or raincoat in the winter months
  • There are many twisting roads in the mountains. If you suffer from road sickness, be sure to bring your medication
  • Anyone interested in joining the tour from the southern resorts such as Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas or San Agustín can easily take the public bus 30 to Las Palmas and at the end of the tour remain in the south.
