I want to tell everyone about my experience. Everything looks fantastic—the hotel is brilliant and the staff are great too—but there are a few unpleasant aspects that everyone should be aware of, so that the same thing doesn’t happen to them. When booking a room online, they may charge your card multiple times; this can happen. I booked a sea-view room; there were discounts at the time, and the price came to €817. The payment went through via the bank, but I received a letter from the hotel saying the money hadn’t been credited, and they sent a form for me to make another payment. My wife and I made the payment of €817 using her card via that form; the payment went through without a hitch. after which, the next day, another attempt was made to debit my card for the hotel, and another attempt was made to debit my wife’s card, but this time for €1,117. When we arrived for our holiday, I asked at reception why my payment had gone through and why the money needed to be refunded, as my wife had paid, They smiled politely and said the money was pending and would be returned after a certain period. We are still sorting out the double payment issue with this hotel. My advice when paying for services is to set a payment limit so that they cannot take more money from you than they tried to do with our cards.
We spent a week at Sercotel Playa Canteras and had an amazing stay. The room was very clean, with a stunning view and a huge terrace that made our experience even more special. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay — especially Carlos at the pool, who was the best! He went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. The location is perfect, with everything close by and easily accessible. We truly enjoyed every moment and highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
Lovely hotel, great location on the beach with the sound of the waves. Superior Seaview room has a large balcony. It is clean (serviced every day), has a good coffee machine, very comfortable bed and best of all, a fantastic shower. And compared to other hotels, we found it quiet, minimal disturbance from other guests in the corridor or from neighbouring rooms. Breakfast was what I call 'business standard', and addition of local products rather than generic European staples would really have elevated it. But the selection is there to suit all tastes.
