Group Surf Lesson for Beginners in Gran Canaria
This is a two-person group surf lesson in southern Gran Canaria, suitable for beginners and intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills.
Description
Start with hotel pickup from selected locations in the south of Gran Canaria, followed by transportation to the surf school. Your certified instructor will fit you with the appropriate wetsuit and surfboard based on your height and experience.
The lesson begins with a safety briefing covering ocean conditions, paddling techniques, board positioning, and how to stand up on the board. A warm-up and practical exercises take place on the beach before you enter the water.
The surf location changes daily depending on wave, wind, tide, and safety conditions, with possible spots near Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, or other suitable beaches.
You will spend about two hours in the water practicing key surfing skills such as paddling, catching waves, balancing, and board control. Instruction is adapted to different skill levels in the group.
The total experience lasts around four hours, including pickup, transportation, equipment preparation, briefings, beach exercises, and the surfing session. Return times may vary slightly depending on conditions and accommodation location.
Lessons are provided in English and Spanish year-round. Other languages may be available seasonally but are not guaranteed.
All equipment is included: wetsuit, surfboard, professional instruction, insurance, mineral water, and an energy bar. When conditions allow, instructors may take complimentary surfing photos during the last 10 to 15 minutes of the session, but this cannot be guaranteed due to safety priorities.
