  • Enjoy a glass of cava or juice while watching the sunset above the clouds
  • Observe planets, galaxies, and star clusters through powerful telescopes

Description

The tour begins with a scenic drive through Gran Canaria’s mountain landscapes, passing canyons, palm tree oases, and villages such as Arteara and Fataga. The first stop is at Mirador Astronómico de la Degollada de las Yeguas, overlooking Gran Canaria’s Grand Canyon, followed by the sunset viewpoint at Mirador de la Degollada de la Becerra. Self-driving participants meet the group here.

At 1550 meters above sea level, the sunset viewpoint provides views above the clouds, including Teide on Tenerife and Pico de las Nieves on Gran Canaria. Guests enjoy a welcome drink of cava or juice while watching the sunset.

After sunset, the group proceeds to Llanos de la Pez at around 1800 meters elevation for a stargazing session. The remote site benefits from minimal light pollution, offering clear views of the night sky.

Using powerful telescopes, certified guides will reveal planets, galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. The tour includes a laser-guided constellation explanation and live deep-sky images displayed on tablets. A professional astrophotographer captures night-sky portraits, which guests can download as a souvenir.

Because of the high altitude and cooler evening temperatures, warm clothing and closed shoes are recommended. Blankets are provided.
