Description
The day begins with pick-up directly from your hotel or Airbnb, between 8:00 and 9:00. We head gently inland, with the first stop at an astronomical viewpoint offering a sweeping overview of the island—deep valleys and wide horizons that seem carved to remain in your memory.
We then descend into one of Gran Canaria’s most picturesque villages: Fataga. Here, whitewashed houses cling to the slopes of a lush green canyon. It is a timeless corner of the island, where life still moves at a slower pace.
The road climbs again until we reach Roque Bentayga, an imposing volcanic rock once revered by the island’s aboriginal inhabitants. Standing here, surrounded by echoes of ancient rituals, the view is nothing short of unforgettable. A little further on lies Tejeda, a mountain village nestled inside a volcanic crater. Surrounded by almond groves and Canary pines, its houses seem suspended on the crater walls. Every corner is postcard-perfect, every view an invitation to linger.
From here we continue upwards to the highest village in Gran Canaria. It is here that we pause for lunch in a traditional restaurant carved into the rock, where dishes speak the simple and honest language of Canarian tradition—flavors enriched by the stunning panoramic views that surround you.
In the afternoon, the road winds through green pine forests. We stop at the Mirador de los Pinos de Gáldar, a little-known viewpoint with breathtaking vistas across the island’s northern slopes—a hidden treasure far from the crowds.
The day concludes with an experience that truly leaves a mark: visiting a family-run winery set among vineyards and coffee plantations in a fertile valley. Here, we learn about local winemaking, stroll among fruit trees, and end with a guided tasting of wines and regional products. Everything is included in the tour—no extras, just the pleasure of savoring each moment.
Return is scheduled around 7:00 PM, with drop-off back at your accommodation. It is a day that balances intensity and relaxation, combining changing landscapes, echoes of ancient history, and authentic flavors. A journey that will stay with you, not only in your memory, but also in the taste of the island you carry home.
