Description
Discover the romería, a key tradition of the Canary Islands, through a cultural experience guided by local hosts. Before arriving at the celebration, you will learn about its origin, history, and cultural significance, gaining insight into why romerías remain central to Canarian identity.
You will then dress in authentic traditional Canarian clothing, with personal assistance from a local Canarian mother if desired. Once prepared, join the romería with the group, participating fully in the celebration.
During the six-hour festival, you will access a traditional float and enjoy local food, drinks, music, and dances alongside Canarians who have maintained this tradition for generations. This experience is a genuine cultural immersion, not a sightseeing tour.
At the end, transportation will be provided back to your accommodation or an agreed location in Gran Canaria.
